How does the area converter work?

The area converter is used to convert between different units of measurement for area. Select which "from the unit" you would like to convert, enter the numeric value of area (e.g., 2 square meters), then select the unit of measurement you would like the conversion in and click "convert"!

Why use the area converter?

The area converter is a useful tool for various scenarios, such as traveling to regions still using the imperial system of measurements or the metric system. Quickly converting the area of buildings and land, using the area converter saves time and money. It's free for all, anytime, anywhere!

A Brief History of the Imperial System of Measurements

In 1824, the Weights and Measures Act was pioneered by Great Britain, marking the beginning of the official British imperial system. This system lasted for four decades until 1864 when the metric system was adopted in Great Britain. Today, the United States of America still uses the imperial system of measurements, as do a few other notable countries. Although some countries still use the imperial system, objects defining certain units of measurement are made using the metric system, sometimes referred to as the "roundest object in the world," and then transferred to imperial via respective mathematical relations.
